ABOUT Clerk Okazaki

Clerk of Court, Jeff Okazaki, was appointed by the judiciary in 2024 to fill the remaining term of retiring Clerk, Carlo Esqueda.

In the three years of his term, he has reduced the cost of court on Dane County taxpayers by more than $1,500,000 per year, increased collections of restitution for crime victims, and expanded access to language support services.

In 2026, Clerk Okazaki has also launched an overhaul of the Dane County Court’s technology to improve how the court runs and make courtrooms more accessible.

Outside of the court, Jeff also volunteers his time to serve on the Wisconsin Federated Humane Societies Board of Directors, helping to support animal shelters across the state.

Dane County has an incredible mix of communities both urban and rural, and supporting people from many cultures and all walks of life. As Clerk of Court, Jeff has helped increase understanding, access, and availability of the court.
